Temporary Water Shortage Advisory

Due to extreme cold weather causing treatment process interruptions at the Timothy G. Broome Water Treatment Plant, Johnston County has declared a temporary water shortage advisory. Johnston County Public Utilities is asking all customers to immediately refrain from all non-essential uses.  

In addition, customers should check for plumbing leaks on frozen pipes and plumbing as they thaw. The County expects the water shortage advisory to last no longer than 24-48 hours. Staff is working to correct the problem and restore normal operations. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.
