2025 Water and Wastewater System Development Fee Study Update

 
In accordance with the General Assembly of North Carolina Session Law 2017-138 (North Carolina House Bill 436), Johnston County contracted with Willdan Financial Services to perform a Water and Wastewater System Development Fee Study Update.  The law provides specific guidance to public water and wastewater providers to assess System Development Fees (SDF) for the recovery of capital costs associated with new development and system growth.

The report will be available for public inspection and review for at least 45 days on Johnston County's website and at the office of Johnston County Public Utilities at 309 E. Market Street, Smithfield, NC.

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to discuss the 2025 System Development Fee Study Update on July 21, 2025.
