Explore Johnston County's First Regional Park

The County’s new park is officially open, and we’re taking you back to the ribbon-cutting that marked the beginning of a new chapter for recreation in Johnston.

Johnston County Regional Park is the first County-owned and County-operated park — the result of years of planning, investment and a community vision to preserve this 70-acre property for recreation.

Phase 1 includes four pickleball courts, two basketball courts, an ADA-accessible fishing pond, a picnic shelter and parking. And there’s much more to come, including athletic fields, walking trails, a playground, splash pad, dog park, disc golf course, skate park, and outdoor amphitheater.

Note: The fishing pond is not yet open for fishing. It must stabilize before it can be stocked and opened to anglers.
