'County Close-Up' Series Will Bring Water Infrastructure and Utility Plans to the Public

The second County Close-Up is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Johnston County Agricultural Center, 2736 N.C. 210, Smithfield.
The County’s Public Utilities team invites residents to learn about the department’s operations and upcoming capital projects, including plans to expand the water supply with an intake on the lower Neuse River and a new treatment plant near Princeton. Afterward, residents will have the chance to ask questions of Public Utilities staff and meet one-on-one with them.
County Close-Up is a new series that brings County departments together with residents for public forums focused on topics of community interest. Each event will feature a presentation from County staff, followed by a question-and-answer session, and an opportunity for residents to speak one-on-one with staff members.
