Johnston County Calls on Public for Details Regarding Wastewater Odor Source

Johnston County Public Utilities is investigating a strong odor in the South Smithfield-Four Oaks area that might be linked to an unknown discharge into the wastewater system.

 

The County is working with N.C. Emergency Management to identify the source of the odor, resolve the issue, and ensure there are no risks to public health. 

 

The Public Utilities team continues to run tests on the system to determine the origin of the odor.
