Necessary Evils - How Not to Become a Victim of Fraud

Detective Godwin, with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, will join us to discuss how scammers operate and practical ways to protect yourself from becoming a victim of fraud.

This free class is for adults, and is on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm in the Multipurpose Meeting Room on the Second Floor of the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield.  Registration is not required for this event.

Cybersecurity Basics - In this class, participants will talk about how to safely use the internet. This is also called cybersecurity. We will learn the basics of cybersecurity: How to protect and keep safe our identity, our personal data, and our financial assets when we're online.
