Information Available from MapClick GIS

The Johnston County MapClick GIS application consolidates data from multiple county departments into a single platform. Users can view, query, search, and print maps containing a wide variety of information.

Here is the primary information you can find using the application:

  • Property and Tax Information: Users can view tax parcels along with their attributes, such as the owner's name, mailing address, deed book and page, acreage, market value, parcel number, and NC PIN. The application also provides access to deed and plat images, as well as tax assessment information.

  • Boundaries and Districts: The map includes layers for county boundaries, city limits, voting districts, fire districts, rescue districts, zip codes, and Extra-Territorial Jurisdictions (ETJs).

  • Infrastructure and Utilities: You can view the locations of water lines, sewer locations, cell towers, railroads, and major roads. It also displays building footprints and the county airport footprint.

  • Environmental and Land Features: Map layers include 2-foot and 10-foot elevation contours, soil surveys, hydrology (water features), land cover, and 100-year and 500-year flood zones.

  • Zoning and Planning: The application shows town zoning, Municipal Transition Districts, and specific overlay districts. Permitting data is also integrated.

  • Aerial Photography: Users can view current orthophotos as well as historical aerial photography.

Additionally, the MapClick application allows you to search for specific locations using various criteria. You can search by:

  • Owner name
  • Property address
  • Tax number or NC PIN
  • Deed book and page
  • Latitude and Longitude
  • Subdivisions, neighborhoods, or schools

A recent feature update also added a "Street View" option on the Query tab, allowing you to click a road location to open Google Maps Street View in a new window.
