SEPTEMBER APPOINTMENTS
The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will be considering the following upcoming appointments. Please note the deadline to apply is August 24, 2026. Applicants must be a resident of Johnston County.
Library Board of Trustees – 1 position; 3 year term.
Nursing Home/Adult Care Home Community Advisory Board – 15 positions; 1 year term for new appointees or 3 year term for reappointed members. “No person or immediate family member of a person with a financial interest in a home served by a committee, or an employee or governing board member of a home served by a committee, or immediate family member of a patient in a home served by a committee may be a member of a committee.”
Pleasant Grove Community Building Board of Trustees – 4 positions; 2 year terms.
Veterans Services Advisory Board – 1 position; 3 year term. (Eligible applicants must be a Veteran. One position representing County Commissioner District 6)
Johnston County Citizens wishing to be considered may submit a short application form to the Clerk to the Board, P.O. Box 1049, Smithfield, North Carolina 27577 by August 24, 2026. Short application forms are available in the Clerk to the Board’s Office, Johnston County Courthouse 207 E.
