NOVEMBER APPOINTMENTS
The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will be considering the following upcoming appointments. Please note the deadline to apply is October 21, 2025. Applicants must be a resident of Johnston County.
Economic Development Advisory Board - 5 positions; 2 year terms. One position will be appointed from each of the following areas of representation: Town of Benson, Town of Four Oaks and Town of Smithfield. The remaining two positions are At-Large members. (Applications received for the Town areas will be forwarded to the respective Town Council for a recommendation. Final appointments will be made at the Johnston County Board of Commissioners December 1, 2025 meeting.)
Livestock Arena Management Board – 2 positions; 2 year terms.
Nursing Home/Adult Care Home Community Advisory Board – 15 positions; 1 year term for new appointees or 3 year terms for reappointed members. “No person or immediate family member of a person with a financial interest in a home served by a committee, or an employee or governing board member of a home served by a committee, or immediate family member of a patient in a home served by a committee may be a member of a committee.”
Johnston County Citizens wishing to be considered may submit a short application form to the Clerk to the Board, P.O. Box 1049, Smithfield, North Carolina 27577 by October 21, 2025. Short application forms are available in the Clerk to the Board’s Office, Johnston County Courthouse 207 E. Johnston Street, Smithfield, 919-989-5100 or may be downloaded from the County’s web site: www.johnstonnc.gov/commissioners.
