10 JOHNSTON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE DISTRICT STAFFING NEEDS AND COMPENSATION SUBCOMMITTEE January 7 , 2025 + The Johnston County Fire Protection Service District Staffing Needs and Compensation Subcommittee meeting was held on Tuesday , January 7 , 2025 at 8 30 am in the Johnston County Emergency Services JCES 911 Training room Present Chairman Jeremey Daughtry , Barry Stanley , Brannan Barbee , Stacey Turner , Larry Hodge , Joey Creech , Joseph Radford Also Present Director Kevin Hubbard Johnston County Emergency Services , Ryan Parker Johnston County Fire Marshal , Jordan Piper Johnston County Deputy Fire Marshal , Devin Creech Johnston County Admin Assistant 1 Meeting Called to Order Chairman Jeremey Daughtry called the meeting to order at 8 30 am Jordan Piper opened the meeting with a prayer 2 Approval Discussion of Agenda Upon a motion by Joseph Radford , seconded by Larry Hodge , and unanimously carried , the Staffing Needs and Compensation Subcommittee members approved the agenda 3 Approval Discussion of Minutes A motion to approve and adopt the minutes of the December 3 , 2024 Staffing Needs and Compensation meeting was made by Brannan Barbee , seconded by Joey Creech , and carried unanimously by the subcommittee members Page4 Discussion on Staffing Policy Proposal Chairman Jeremy Daughtry asked the subcommittees to share their thoughts and engage in a discussion about the Staffing Policy The subcommittee reviewed various department scenarios and needs to meet the goal of having four full - time staff per station Chairman Daughtry reached out to several departments to collect datasets from their transitions from part - time to full - time staff Members also identified additional North Carolina departments from which they would gather similar information The subcommittee decided to resubmit their formal recommendation on the minimum pay rate for part - time staffing , along with the related requirements , with the goal of developing a Strategic Plan that includes a marketing plan to the Fire Commission Board at the meeting on Thursday , January 9th 5 Staff Updates Jordan Piper shared that the tablet training video is in the final stages of approval and will be discussed at the Fire Commission board meeting on Thursday , January 9th , to determine the best way to disseminate it Jordan also mentioned that he was still waiting on five departments to send their current pay scale data 6 Committee Member Comments There were no committee member comments There being no further business , Brannan Barbee moved to adjourn , Larry Hodge seconded the motion , which was carried by unanimous vote The meeting adjourned at 9 54 Page
