2 year terms Utica Cason , Samantha Harding , and Joyce Holloman have applied for appointment Joyce Holloman was appointed 12 Delinquent Tax Collection Report - Informational Item 13 Manager Reports and Comments County Manager Rick Hester recommended to the Board a contribution to the Regional Transportation Alliance's study in the amount of 25,00000 The Board approved the request 14 Board Reports and Comments Commissioner Richard D Braswell mentioned an email he received regarding agricultural farms in North Carolina and he was pleased to see there are still 920 individual farms in Johnston County He stated it is good to see the work being done to save the farms in our county Commissioner Braswell also stated Johnston County has the best employees Commissioner Ted G Godwin mentioned the Vietnam Veterans ceremony held at the Courthouse on March 29th sponsored by the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution He stated the ceremony was well attended and he thanked them for honoring the Veterans Commissioner Godwin also mentioned an Alliance Health Care meeting regarding mental health and the progress being made Vice Chairman Patrick E Harris expanded on Commissioner Godwin's comments and thanked him for his participation in the Alliance Health meetings Vice Chairman Harris stated they are making a lot of progress and have identified three top priorities that will be beneficial to the citizens of Johnston County and there would be more to come PagePage pageNumber7Commissioner Fred J Smith , Jr expressed his appreciation for the contributions of older Americans and referenced the book " From Strength to Strength " by Arthur Brooks Chairman RS " Butch " Lawter , Jr reminded everyone of the Public Hearing on the Fire Service Tax Districts at the 6 00 pm meeting 15 Closed Session - NCGS 14331811 a 3 - Attorney - Client Privilege ;
