December 1 1980The Johnston County Board of Commissioners reconvened in regular session Monday,December 1, 1980, at 7 oclock pm, in the Commissioners Room of the Johnston County Court-house, Smithfield, North Carolina, with the following members present;Norman C Denning, Chairman, Frank B Holding, Vice Chairman, John M Booker, DVM,James W Cash and Howard BentonMembers Absent NoneCommissioner Howard Benton moved that the board go into executive session to interviewan applicant for the position of County AdministratorCommissioner Frank B Holding seconded the motion which was carried by unanimous voteAfter the interview, Commissioner James W Cash moved that the Executive Session beclosed and further that regular session be resumedCommissioner Frank B Holding seconded the motion which was carried by unanimous vote1 Subdivision - Variance - W W Ranch, IncCommissioner James W Cash moved that W W Ranch, Inc, Elevation Township, be granteda variance to Section 1004 of the Johnston County Subdivision Regulations which requires thelot at the building line to be not less than 110 feetCommissioner Howard Benton seconded the motion which was carried by unanimous votefJ{December 1, 1980 Continued2 Foster Child Care Restraint Program - Safety SeatsIt was reported to the board that the Department of Social Services had contactedthe State regarding the wording of the agreement of the Foster Child Care Restraint ProgramSafety Seats and the State advised that the wording which states that the County will notfile suit against the North Carolina Governors Highway Safety Program or theState of NorthCarolina nor allow anyone to sue on the countys behalf for any claims arising from damageor injury caused by use of the seat could not be changed because the State was providingthe funds for this program The board took no action on this agreement3 Foreign Trade ZoneCommissioner James W Cash reported to the board that the State is talking aboutsetting up a Foreign Trade Zone probably in Wake CountyUpon a motion by Commissioner Frank B Holding, duly seconded by Commissioner JohnM Booker and carried by unanimous vote, the board recessed to meet again Thursday, December11, 1980, at 830 pmEleanor N CreechClerk to the Board121580
