Meeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonJune 28,_ 1982The Johnston County Board of Commissioners reconvened in regular session on Monday,June 28, 1982, at 730 pm, in the Commissioners Room of the Johnston County Courthouse,Smithfield, North Carolina, with the following members presentNorman C Denning, Chairman, Frank B Holding, Vice Chairman, James W Cash,Howard Benton and John M Booker, DVMMembers Absent NoneThe Chairman called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted1 Appointment - Capital Health Systems AgencyCommissioner Howard Benton moved that Earl Creech be appointed to the Capital HealthSystems Agency Board to fill Johnston Countys vacancyCommissioner Frank B Holding seconded the motion which was carried by unanimous vote2 BudgetStudy and ReviewThe board again studied, discussed and reviewed various budget requests for the 1982 -83 fiscal year, and tentatively agreed to the following1 to fund student fees in the School Budget in the amount of 57,085;2 to make no appropriation to the Capital Health Systems Agency3 to appropriate a total of 61,250 to the Public Library; 58,750 for operatingexpenses and 2,500 to endowment4 to reserve 50,000 for -the Town of Micro for utility improvements5 to add 24,000 tothe Sheriffs budget to employ an additional deputy sheriffIn discussion of the School Budget, the County Manager advised that the School Boardhad expressed a desire to meet with the board, if they were anticipating any changes in theschools requestsUpon a motion by Commissioner James W Cash, duly seconded by Commissioner HowardBenton and carried, the board recessed to meet again Wednesday, June 30, 1982, at 9 oclockam62Norman C Denning, ChairmanEleanor N CreechClerk to the Board235
