1976 - 1977 BudgetIn accordance with the Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act 159 -12b a PublicHearing was announced and held on June 22, 1976, at 730 p m, on the 1976 -1977 Budget in theCommissioners Room of the Johnston County CourthouseNo one appeared before the Board to be heard on the 1976 -1977 Proposed Budget and theChairman closed the Public Hearing session2 Summer Recreation FundsKramer Jackson, County Administrator, advised the Board that Johnston County had been allotE5,92400 from the Federal Government to purchase youth related recreation equipment as they did lastyear and the funds are to be used in the same manner as last yearThe Board instructed Mr Jackson and Commissioner Freddie Adams to work on the recreationprogram and allocate funds to various recreation organizations in the county3 Budget Amendment to Johnston Technical InstituteDr John Tart; President, Johnston Technical Institute, met with the Board and requestedadditional funds in the amount of 2,000 for the Technical Institute for expenses incurred beyondtheir budget anticipationAfter discussion, Commissioner Howard Benton moved that 2,000 be transferred from theContingency Fund of the County General Fund 1099999 and appropriated to the Johnston TechnicalInstitute Budget to be usedfor unanticipated expenses and operating costs incurred as a result ofthe fire destroying the main classroom facility at the instituteCommissioner Freddie Adams seconded the motion which was carried unanimouslyFrom Contingency Fund 1099999 2,000 -
