1Meeting of Board of Commissioners for County of JohnstonJune 9, 1975The Johnston County Board of Commissioners met in special session in the Commissioners Roomof the Johnston County Courthouse, Smithfield, North Carolina, Monday, June 9, 1975, at 8 oclockpm, with the following members present,Norman C Denning, Chairman, Frank B Holding, vice Chairman, Freddie Adams, Howard Bentonand Hoyt CastleberryMembers Absent NoneChairman Denning called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted1 Budget Study and DiscussionThe Board of Commissioners continued study of the 1975 -1976 proposed budget and discussedvarious departments request at lengthIn discussion of the Department of Social Services Budget the Board recommended at this timethat two Eligibility Specialist and one typist, presently employed by Emergency Manpower Funds, beretained by the County for this fiscal year 1975 -1976 when Manpower funds are exhausted in FebruaryThe Board also asked Mr Jackson to determine how personnel with the Department of SocialServices is reclassified and what authority the County has in this matter of reclassification, if anyThe Board further asked Mr Jackson to check into the Alcoholic Rehabilitation Program in theCounty, at the Mental Health Center cost and etc, Cross Roads House and Day by Day Home in SelmaUpon motion by Commissioner Frank B Holding, duly seconded by Commissioner Freddie Adamsand carried unanimously, the Board recessed to meet again Tuesday, June 10, 1975, at 8 oclock pmrEleanor N, Clerk
