PanFit width459,Meeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonMay 28, 1973The Johnston County Board of Commissioners met in special session in the Auditors Office ofthe Johnston County Courthouse, Smithfield, North Carolina, Monday, May 28, 1973, at 8 oclock pm,with the following members presentNorman C Denning, Chairman, Frank B Holding, Freddie Adams, Howard Benton and HoytCastleberryMembers Absent NoneThe following business was transacted1 Johnston County Community Action - Budget RequestPaul Keller, Executive Director, Johnston County Community Action, appeared before the Boardand explained that he had been unable to arrive at a figure to request for 1973 -74 from County fundsdue to the fact that he does not know how much money Community Action will receive from the FederalGovernment, however, Mr Keller asked the Board of Commissioners to reserve 15,000 in contingency sothat it will be available if this agency finds it needs financial support from County governmentMr Keller at this time renewed his request of 10,000 from revenue sharing, 5,000 to purchasea mini -bus and 5,000 to operate the antipoverty out-of-county transportation program This programfurnishes transportation services to medical clinicsThe Board took no action on Mr Kellers request at this time2 Council on Aging - Budget Request for 1973 -74Mrs Sandra Raulerson, Director,-Johnston County Council on Aging, met with the Board andpresented her budget request for County funds for the year 1973 -74The Board advised Mrs Raulerson that they want some idea of the towns that will be contributingto the Council on Aging and what their contribution to the Council will be Mrs Raulerson explainedthat she was requesting funds from the towns based on the same formula 10?
