Sewer Line to Serve Chicopee - ContractUpon a motion by Commissioner Howard Benton, duly seconded by CommissionerJames W Cash and carried, the following contract was approved and the Chairmanauthorized to execute this contract;NORTH CAROLINAJOHNSTON COUNTYTHIS CONTRACT made and entered into this 3 day of October, 1983, byand between THE COUNTY OF JOHNSTON party of the first part; and THE TOWN OFBENSON, party of the second part;W I T N E S S E T HTHAT WHEREAS, the Town of Benson has need of the sum of 79,000 fromparty of the first part for the construction of a sewage line to serve ChicopeeCorporation which has built a multi - CAROLINA ETHANOL PLANTWHEREAS, Diversified Fuels, Inc representatives have announced plansto construct an ethanol plant in the Wilsons Mills area of Johnston County; andWHEREAS, Officials of the company have met with the Johnston CountyBoard of Commissioners requesting the construction of a water line to the site;andWHEREAS, Officials of the company have estimated a need of up to 250,000gallons per day of water; andWHEREAS, Officials of the company have requested a 500,000 gallon elevatedtank to be constructed on the site in order to provide adequate fire protectionfor the facility; andWHEREAS, Johnston County Government has a policy of extending waterand sewer lines to new and expanding industrial plants, contingent upon evidence r^4of awarding of the contract to construct the facilitya,October 3, 1983 Continued6 Recreation Grant Applications - territorial jurisdiction,with cable TV service, Channel Master is presently serving residents in the Townof Kenly, and is building a system in Micro These individuals have contactedJim Armour of Channel Master insisting that he ask the Board of Commissionersfor permission to extend into the one mile extra - territorial jurisdiction aroundKenly, Micro and PrincetonThe board was advised that Kountry Kable already has cable in theground around Micro and Kenly, but not connected to any houses at this time PerceII Holland, Mayor of Micro, Ben Strifert and Doug Parnell, metwith the board asking that Channel Master be allowed to serve these areas withinthe one mile extra -
