S R # 1128Mr Worth Thornton of Meadow Township and several others met with the Board and inquired asto the priority rating of S R # 1128 They were advised that the rating at the present was number 26and that the road was in a good position for paving in the next program, unless a traffic count, nowbeing made, sets it back in priority3 Walt Fuller - Right of Way S R # 2 546Mr Walt Fuller of Smithfield, N C, came before the Board and advised that the StateHighway Commiss ion , in requesting a right-of-way for road number 2 546 , was taking more of his propertythan he felt was necessary, and he was seeking aide from the Board of County Commissioners in resistingthisIn discussing the matter the Board advised Mr Fuller that they had no authority whatsoever,that it was a matter of the Highway Right -of -Way Agency4 Raleigh Rescue Mission Request for Tax ExemptionThe Reverend Waymon -E Pritchard, Superintendent of the Raleigh Rescue Mission, came beforethe Board seeking property tax exemption for property of the Rescue Mission located in Wilders Township,Johnston County Rev Pritchard advised the Board that he had such an exemption in Wake County andthat the organization was non - S R # 1179 and 1213The Board of Commissioners was presented with a petition from property owners for the pavingof S R #,1179 and 1213 located in Ingrams TownshipCommissioner Frank B Holding moved that the petition be mailed to the State Highway Commissionin Wilson, N C, for considerationCommissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr seconded the motion which was carried12 Solid Waste Disposal Plans Presented to BoardAt the request of the Board of County Commissioners, Mr Fred Wood, with the State Board ofHealth appeared before the Board and discussed at length the problem of Solid WasteDisppsal,and garbagein Johnston County and presented two 2 plans that he had worked out which showed estimated costsJAfter a lengthy discussion, Commissioner Freddie Adams moved that Chairman Bailey appointsomeone to check with the FHA as to the possibility and feasibility of securing a grant to finance awaste disposal program in Johnston CountyCommissioner Frank B- ,Holding seconded the motion which was carriedfaaiI?} I1235February 1, 197113 Board to Check With Towns -
