2o2,Meeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstoniJuly 1, 1970The Johnston County Board of Commissioners met in special session in the CommissionersRoom of the Johnston County Courthouse, Smithfield, North Carolina, July 1, 1970, at 12 oclock noon,with the following members presentJ Dobbin Bailey, Chairman, Norman C Denning, Frank B Holding, Adam J Whitley, Jr andFreddie AdamsMembers- Absent NoneThe following business was transacted1 Interim ResolutionUpon the recommendation of W H Britt, Auditor, Commissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr movedthat the following Interim Resolution be adoptedRESOLVED that under authority of Chapter 153, Public Laws of 1943, as amended, Section 128,the Auditor of Johnston County and Treasurer of Johnston County be, and they are hereby authorizedto approve and pay current expenses in the several departments of the County Government not -to exceed90 ninety days from the date hereof pending the making of the annual appropriation as authorized insaid law, and further that the expenses so authorized be charge against the final appropriation ofthe several departments of the County respectively when said appropriations are made for the currentyearCommissioner Norman C Denning seconded the motion which was carried unanimously2 Payment to First Citizens Bank and Trust Company Interest on ContractCommissioner Norman C Denning moved that W H Britt, Auditor and Mrs Rosa W Gilbert,Treasurer, be authorized and directed to pay to First Citizens Bank and Trust Company 1,43750,representing interest from 1 -1 -70 to 7 -1 -70, on contract formerly held by Smithfield IndustriesCommissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr seconded the motion which was carried3 Payment to Howard B AllenCommissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr moved that W H Britt, Auditor and Mrs Rosa W Gilbert,,Treasurer, be authorized and directed to pay to Howard B Allen, 4,00000 principal and 10575interest, according to agreement dated 12- 19 -69Commissioner Freddie Adams seconded the motion which was carried unanimouslyUpon a motion made and duly seconded the Board adjournedWH Britt, Clerktk` sr
