Rabies VaccineCommissioner Norman C Denning moved that W H Britt, Auditor, be authorized to advertisefor rabies vaccine to be used by the Dog Warden in his program for 1970Commissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr seconded the motion which was carried7 Mr George E Johnson HogsMr George E Johnson came before the Board and reported that stray dogs had killed severalof his hogs;and asked the Board if there was any way that restitution could be madeMr Johnson was referred to W R Britt, County Attorney8 AYDC Public Assistance Budget - Fire Escape - Courthouse Ramp and LiftMr Harry McGee, Architect met with the Board and advised that the fire escape at the rearof the Social Services Building would be installed in a few daysMr McGee also reported that he had investigated the feasibility andpossibility of a liftor ramp to be installed at the Courthouse and,estimates the cost for a ramp at 15,00000, which hedeclarednot`1easible, and he estimates the cost of constructing lift at 10,00000 to 13,00000After listening to Mr McGee, Commissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr moved that the Boardinstruct W H Britt, Clerk to write Mr C S Coats, who has been very much interested in this project,and advise him of the cost estimates presented by Mr McGee, and express to him the Boards thinkingthat the project would be too expensive to undertake at this time, and also advise Mr Coats that theSheriffs Department and any other office in the Courthouse would be glad to help him or any otherwheel chair patient into the Courthouse at any time they wish to visitThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Norman C Denning and carried11 Regional Health PlanningJ Marvin Johnson, Chairman of the Johnston Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and LloydGilbert, Administrator met with the Board and discussed at length the Area Health Planning ProgramAfter a lengthy discussion, Commissioner Frank B Holding moved that Chairman Johnson andAdministrator Gilbert be requested and instructed to meet and work with all authorities in this matterof Health Planning and the question of assignment of Counties into certain regions and to keep theBoard of County Commissioners advisedThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr and was carried12 Bids - Wrecked Deputy CarSheriff Rayford Oliver reported to the Board that he had obtained three bids on the wreckeddeputy car and he stated that he had extended the time until January 17, 1970, hoping to receive otherbidsChairman Bailey appointed Commissioner Freddie Adams to work with Sheriff Oliver in disposingof the wreck car and suggested that he and Sheriff Oliver use their own good judgement13 Salaries - J J Mobile Homes - Rent on TrailerCommissioner Frank B Holding moved that J J Mobile Homes, Inc be paid 17000, as rentfor the months of November and December, 1969, and that the rent in the amount of 8500 per month bepaid through June, 1970Commissioner Holding further moved that Commissioner Freddie Adams be instructed to go aothe Health Department andmake an appraisal of the trailer, being rented, and report to the Board asto, in his opinion, if it would be more feasible to purchase the trailer rather than continue rentingd Commissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr seconded the motion which was carried18 Payment # 5 - Associated Surveys CompanyW H Britt, Auditor presented the Board with a statement from Associated Surveys Companyfor 7,312001 representing the fifth payment for work completed on the Revaluation ContractP Commissioner Norman C Denning moved that Associated Surveys be paid 7,31200 in accordancewith its statementThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr and carried unanimously19 County Parking Lot Ellis LotCommissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr presented a sketch of plans drawn by him and W H Britt,Auditor for parking on the Ellis lotAfter discussion, Commissioner Frank B Holding moved that the -
