December 21, 1970 - Special1 2Fit widthm ?December 21, 1970The Johnston County Board of Commissioners met in special session in the Commissioners Roomof the Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield, North Carolina, December 21, 1970, at 12 oclock noon,with the following members presentJ Dobbin Bailey, Chairman, Norman C Denning, Frank B Holding, Adam J Whitley, Jr andFreddie AdamsMembers Absent NoneThe following business was transacted1 - Acting SecretaryCommissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr moved that Eleanor Creech be appointed Acting Secretary tothe Board of County CommissionersCommissioner Norman C Denning seconded the motion which was carried unanimously2 Princeton Civil Defense Rescue SquadCommissioner Freddie Adams moved that the Board of County Commissioners advance the PrincetonCivil Defense Rescue Squad 120000, effective November 1, 1970 C ommissioner Adams further moved thatthe Board of Commissioners authorize the Auditor to pay for a 1968 Chevrolet Carry -All Ambulance, MotorNumber CE 168 F 131826 for the Princeton Civil Defense Rescue Squad in the amount of 400000, uponreceipt of 80000 and title of said vehicleCommissioner Norman C Denning seconded the motion which was carried3 Contract - Princeton Civil Defense Rescue Squad and County of JohnstonCommissioner Freddie Adams moved that the following contract be approvedNORTH CAROLINAJOHNSTON COUNTYTHIS CONTRACT made and entered into this 21st day of December, 1970, by and between the COUNTYOF JOHNSTON, party of the first part, and PRINCETON CIVIL DEFENSE RESCUE SQUAD, INC, party of thesecond part;WI TN ESS ETH That whereas the County of Johnston, through its Board of Commissioners, has committed to advancmoney to the party of the second part to buy capital equipment for its operation which will be of valueand service to the people of Johnston County, particularly the area around Princeton, N C; and whereasthe County of Johnston, through said Board of Commissioners, has agreed to make additional investmentsin the future for matters pertaining to the operation of said party of the second part according to thepurposes of its Articles of Incorporation; and whereas the party of the second part has agreed totransfer and assign all real and personal property that it now owns or which it may hereafter acquireor otherwise obtain, to the County of Johnston upon its liquidation or cessation of operations;
