Meeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonMay 7, 1969The Johnston County Board of Commissioners met in special session in the AuditorsOffice of the Johnston County Courthouse,at 8 oclock p m, Wednesday, May 7, 1969, with thefollowing members presentJ Dobbin Bailey, Chairman, Frank B; Holding, Norman C Denning, Adam J Whitley, Jrand Freddie AdamsMembers Absent NoneThe following business was transacted1 Mrs Carrie Driver - Tax ComplaintCommissioner Frank B Holding moved that Commissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr andW H Britt, Auditor be instructed to work with Tax Collector, Harper Godwin, in trying tosettle a tax complaint of Mrs Carrie DriverThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Norman C Denning and was carried2 Specifications - RevaluationThe Board of Commissioners discussed with W H Britt, Tax Supervisor specificationsfor a revaluation which had been presented prior to the meeting After careful discussion theBoard decided that the appraisal of machinery and equipment of certain industrial firms wouldbe helpful As a result, Commissioner Freddie Adams moved that the specifications be amendedso as to require the appraisal of the machinery and equipment of all industrial firms employingfive 5 or more personsThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Frank B Holding and was carried unanimously3 Advertisement for Bids - Revaluation SpecificationsCommissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr moved that W H Britt, Tax Supervisor be authorizedand insttucted to advertise for bids and to mail amended copies of the specifications toprospective contractors for the appraisal to be completed as of January 1, 1971Commissioner Freddie Adams seconded the motion which was carriedUpon a motion made and duly seconded the Board adjournedW H gritr, Cltrk1 4
