Fire LanesCommissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr advised the Board that he had visited the CountyFarm and observed that the fire lanes in the timber land should be run outC W Tarlton, County Extension Agent, being present was directed by the Board tocontact the Forest Ranger and ask him to open the fire lanes through the timber fields andalso to get some prison labor from the Sheriff and clean up some of the broken limbs andundergrowth7 B L GodwinB L Godwin, who owns the old Catch -Me -Eye property, along with other propertyowners in that area came-before the Board requesting assistance in securing water and sewerThe Board advised Mr Godwin that they were in sympathy with the people in that area and wouldrender any assistance feasibleIt was suggested that maybe it would be advisable to look into the possibility ofestablishing a sanitary district8 Quit -Claim Deed - Billy G Moore and Kenneth W AycockUpon the recommendation of Rhetta Martin, Tax Attorney, Commissioner Frank B Holdingmoved that a Quit -Claim Deed be made to Billy G Moore and Kenneth W Aycock, for certain tractsor parcels of land lying and being in Beulah Township, which was foreclosed in the name of MrsW A Marlowas recorded in Book 421, page 257 of the Johnston County RegistryMotion was seconded by Commissioner Freddie Adams and carried9 Mental Retardation ProgramMr Bob Harvey requested the Board of County Commissioners to sponsor the JohnstonCounty Mental Retardation Program at no cost to the County He suggested that a council becreated to sponsor the Retardation ProgramAfter discussion, Commissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr moved that the Board of CountyCommissioners appoint a council to study the program as to its needs and the feasibility ofthe Boards sponsorshipMotion was seconded by Commissioner Frank B Holding and was carried10 Overton Container Corporation -
