tMeeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonJune 23, 1969A special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held June 23, 1969 in theRecreation Room of Centenary Methodist Church for the purpose of hearing requests from membersof the Johnston County Community Action Advisory Board and other interested parties for therestoration of funds which was deleted from the County Budget tentatively adopted on June 13,1969The following members were present;J Dobbin Bailey, Chairman, Norman C Denning, Frank B Holding, Adam J Whitley, Jrand Freddie AdamsMembers Absent None1 Paul Keller, Director, Johnston County CommunityAction, IncPaul Keller, Director of Johnston County Community Action, Inc made a request to theBoard of Commissioners that it reconsider and appropriate in the 1969 -1970 budget, tentativelyadopted June 139 1969, the amount of funds originally requested which had been deleted fromthe tentative budget Mr Keller offered several people who spoke in favor of the request andalso expounded on the merits of the Community Action ProgramThe Board listened to the group and at the end thanked them for the interest expressedand assured them that the Board would meet at a later date and consider their requests addmake its decision hopefully for the best for all Johnston CountyUpon a motion made and duly seconded the Board adjournedW H Britt, Clerk
