Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonJune 12, 1968The Board of Commissioners of Johnston County met in special session in the AuditorsOffice in the Johnston County Courthouse, June 12, 1968, 730 P M, with the followingmembers presentH M Johnson, Chairman, J Dobbin Bailey, Adam J Whitley, Norman C Denning, andFrank B HoldingAbsent NoneThe following business was transacted1 Road Petition - S R #15899 1590, and 1591Commissioner Bailey presented a petition that he had received from Billy D Overbee andseveral others from Clayton Township, requesting that S R #1589, 1590, and 1591 be pavedCommissioner Bailey moved that the Board approve this petition and that it be forwardedto the State Highway Commission Office in Wilson, N C, with a request that action be takenon it2Commissioner Holding seconded the motion which carried unanimouslyThe Board continued its study of the 1968 -1969 CountyBudget3 Sick Leave - Clerk of Superior Courts OfficeClerk of Superior Court, James C Woodard, advised the Board that it would be necessaryfor it to declare a certain number of days sick leave for the employees in his office, who willbecome State employees December 1, 1968, in order for them to have any sick leave time untilit has been earned under the State Personnel PolicyAt the request of Mr Woodard, Commissioner Bailey moved that 30 thirty days sickleave, for each person, be granted for each employee in the office of Clerk of Superior Courteffective July 1, 1968, and that the official keeper of records in said matter shall be theClerk to the Board of CommissionersThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Whitley and carried unanimouslyUpon a motion made, seconded, and carried, the Board recessed to meet again Thursday,June 13, at 730 P M for further study of the BudgetClerk
