Park, Director of the County Welfare Department, met with the Board andstated that she had been in touch with the State Office in regards to assistance in subsidizingthe Boarding Homes for keeping Public Assistance patients She advised that she was informedthat the State was not in a position to pay any more than the present rate at this time, andthat any subsidy would be a matter for the Board of Commissioners to decide and would have tobe all County moneyThe Board took no action on the above matter at this time2 Bond BidsCommissioner Bailey reported that he and W H Britt, Auditor had reviewed and studiedthe Bond Bids submitted by several agents in the County and which had been opened at the regulazmeeting of the Board July 1, 1968`Commissioner Bailey moved that the bid of Max Creech Insurance Agency, Smithfield,North Carolina, representing Ohio Casualty InsuranceCompany, be accepted as it was the lowestbid jThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Denning and was carried unanimously3, Fuel Oil BidsCommissioner Whitley moved that the bid submitted by Gardner- Creech Oil Company ofSmithfield, N C, for the supplying of # 2 fuel oil for the heating of County buildings forthe year July 1, 1968 to June 30, 1969, be acceptedThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Holding and was carried unanimously4 Wellons Rental Contract - CancellationAt the request of the Board of Commissioners, Mr E J Wellons, Jr, was present andafter discussing the rental agreement between the County and Mr E J- Wellons, Sr, datedJanuary 1, 1963, and which was in effect for four and one -half more years, Mr Wellons agreedto terminate the contract as of July 1, 1968, for 150000Commissioner Bailey moved that the offer of Mr Wellons be accepted and that W HBritt, Auditor, and J Narvin Creech, Treasurer, be directed to pay E J Wellons, Jr, 150000immediatelyThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Denning and was carried5 Payment - Clayton IndustriesCommissioner Bailey moved that W H Britt, Auditor, and J Narvin Creech, Treasurer,be authorized and directed to pay Clayton Industries Clayton Development Corporation ;36,05760 principal and 46274 interest, a total of 36,52034, for money paid to the Townof Clayton for the expense of running water and sewer lines from the town limits, to anindustrial site north of Clayton, known as Clayton Development Corporation This amount is infull payment of commitment of the Board, made at a previous meetingThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Whitley and carried unanimously6 Library Property - Sale ProceedsIt was brought to the attention of the Board that both parcels of the old Libraryproperty had been purchased by the County during the past year at a combined price of 16,550Commissioner Bailey moved that the entire proceeds, derived from the sale of the LibraryProperty, be appropriated for Library purpose in the 1968 -69 budget as follows10,00000 budgeted for Library of Johnston County and Smithfield Building Fund and thebalance of 6,55000 be budgeted as a part of the Countys contribution to the Library ofJohnston County and Smithfield for operationsThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Holding and was carriedAlkilJuly 8,
