on Johnson Street, for the purpose of parkingCommissioner Wb,itley seconded the motion which carried unanimously9 Re- surface Drive -way - Johnston Memorial HospitalCommissioner Holding moved that the State Highway Commission be requested to re- surfacethe drive leading off 301 highway into Johnston Memorial Hospital and bill the County for itsservicesThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Denning and carried10 Salary - Joyce Wellons Jones - Welfare DepartmentCommissioner Denning moved that the salary of Joyce Wellons Jones, Social Worker I, inthe Welfare Department be increased to 41500 per month, retro- active to July 15, 1967Motion was seconded by Commissioner Whitley and carried11 Final Contribution of County to Library of Johnston County and SmithfieldCommissioner Bailey moved that W H Britt, Auditor and J Narvin Creech, Treasurer beauthorized and instructed to pay to A L Hobgood, Treasurer of the Library of Johnston Countyand Smithfield 10,00000 as budgeted, this being the final payment of the 50,00000 commit-mentThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Holding and carried12 Tax Foreclosure PapersCommissioner Frank B Holding made a motion that W H Britt, Auditor,be instructed totalk with Sheriff Rayford Oliver and inform him that the Board requests that all tax fore-closure papers, delivered to his department by Miss Rhetta Martin, Tax Attorney, be servedimmediatelyThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Denning and carried unanimously13 Civil Defense MapsAfter a discussion with Wilson Jiggs Broadwell, Civil Defense Director, regardingcertain proposed Civil Defense Maps,I Commissioner Frank B Holding moved that W H Britt,Tax Supervisor confer with Mr Bxoadwell and ascertain if these maps would be beneficial to theCounty as tax maps or could be tied in with a tax mapping programCommissioner J D Bailey seconded the motion which carried unanimously14 Salaries - Lexie Wallace and Donnie HillCommissioner Denning moved that the salaries of Lexie Wallace and Donnie Hill, FireTelephone Operators, be increased from 15000 per month to 16500 per month, retro - activeto July 1, 1967Commissioner Bailey seconded the motion which carriedf°EiffmAugust 7, 1967 Cont15 Jury Commission AppointmentCommissioner J D Bailey moved that Alvin Narron of Oneals Township, Middlesex, Route# 1, be appointed by the Board as a member of the Jury Commission for JohnstonCounty for aterm of two 2 years, from the first day of September, 1967, as provided in the GeneralStatutes of North CarolinaThe motion was seconded by Commissioner Frank B Holding and the motion carriedunanimously,16 Pay for Jury Commission MembersCommissioner Adam J Whitley, Jr, moved that the members of the newly created JuryCommission of Johnston County be paid at the rate of 2000 per diem, plus seven 7 cents permile for travel in connection with their duties and to and from their place of residenceCommissioner Norman C Denning seconded the motion, which carried unanimouslyOn a motion made and duly seconded the Board adjourned
