caseloads have expanded in all programs; 300 morenursing home beds in the County next year; possibility they will have to provide someday -care for food stamp recipientsJ Child Support Enforcement - No ChangeK HAPP - No County FundsL Board of Elections - Board recommended new position as requestedM Public Buildings Bobby Phillips, Building Engineer, asked the Board to considerfunding a position for an Electrician Plumber starting salary approximately 20,000 Hereviewed cost for this work over the past three fiscal years 1986 -87 - 22,313; 1987 -88 -47,174; 1988 -89 - 32,489 Mr Phillips stated this person can be used in all countybuildings which should be a savings to the County; Board recommended new position asrequestedN Sheriff - Additional man -power desperately needed; Sheriff again discussed thepossibility of using the old jail as a week -end satellite and the man - power needed to operatethis facility; he said mixing different types of offenders causes problems, satellite jail forweek- enders will not be a solution; he reported they housed 120 prisoners last week -endJune 23 -26 and had 93 in jail on Tuesday June 27, 1989 - County holding 20 federalprisoners waiting trial; Board recommended 4 jailers for week -end L The Board told theSheriff to feel free to come back to the Board if necessary - if he has any problems duringthe fiscal year0 Landfill Public Utilities Director addressed the need and asked the Board tofund uniforms for his employees on a 50 -50 shared expense, total cost to the County of2,500 Sanitation LandfillAfter discussion, the Board asked the director to get information fromsurrounding counties on whether uniforms are furnished to their employees of sanitation andlandfillThe Public Utilities Director also asked that the Solid Waste Enforcement programbe continued; have had good results The Chairman asked that scavenging prohibited signsbe posted at sites to warn people of this enforcementP Wastewater Budget - No ChangeQ Veterans - No ChangeR Library - No ChangeS Revaluation Fund - No Change - Board expressed concern to get cost downT Debt Service - No interest budgeted on 9 Million School Bond;
