3,000 GrantCommissioner Jerry F Wood moved the Board approve a 3,000 grant formaintenance of Moccasin Creek Drainage District with the understanding theDrainage District Board work toward increasing district assessments to coverfuture emergencies Commissioner Wood further moved the proper budget amendmentbe made from the Contingency FundCommissioner John M Booker seconded the motion which carried byunanimous vote3 Compaction SiteOpposed - Amelia Road, ClaytonMrs Nellie Valerio and another resident of Clayton were present andvoiced opposition to the Countys planned solid waste compaction site on AmeliaRoadChairman Norman C Denning reported the project has been put on holddue to numerous complaints from the neighborhoodCommissioner Frank B Holding explained the Board has no desire to worka hardship on the community and the proposed compaction site was only aneffort on the part of the Board to render better service He noted thatalthough there appears to be a need for a container in the area, perhaps theproposed site is not the appropriate oneCommissioner James W Cash commented he has been asked numerous timesj about providing a solid waste container in the vicinity, however he feels theCounty shouldnt spend 25,000 to 30,000 to provide a service the people dontwantUpon a motion by Commissioner James W Cash, seconded by CommissionerJohn M Booker and carried by unanimous vote, the Board instructed the CountyManager to notif y Attorney Jimmy Narron and PeggyDaughtry,owner of theproperty in question, that the County is no longer considering the lease of MrsDaughtrys property on Amelia Road for the purpose of locating a solid wastecompaction site, and further moved that Mr Narron be compensated for anyexpenses incurred in this transactionUpon a motion by Commissioner John M Booker, duly seconded byCommissioner Jerry F Wood and carried by unanimous vote, the Board adjournedaNorman C Denning, ChairmanJ4,06e Ii Ennis, Deputy ClerkIC EDetailsAnnotationsEntry PropertiesModified11192013 123047 PMCreated3312003 71503 AMTemplateMinutesFieldsMinutes -
