Holders School DistrictRepresentative members of the Corinth - Holders School District, composed of E JCorbett, Percy Strickland, and A C Bowers, presented the needs of their districtfor the ensuing year They estimated that the 17¢ levy, if established, would not meettheir needsThey outlined their needs, and after a discussion, action was deferred7• Selma School DistrictJohn Walker, Principal Selma School, presented the needs of the Selma SchoolDistrict, stating that if the District under the 17¢ proposed tax levy were established,realized as much as they received for the past year that their needs would be metAfter calculating the amount that they would receive under the 17¢ levy, it appear-ed that they would realize the same amount for the coming year that they did in thepast year8 Adoption Tax Rate Vocational Education and Special SchoolAfter due deliberation on the needs of the special school districts, CommissionerJ D Bailey moved that a tax rate of 14¢ be set for Vocational Education and a tax rateof 17¢ be set for the special school districts for the fiscal year 1963 -64Commissioner Norman C Denning seconded the motion, which was carried9 Welfare DepartmentAfter an examination of the telephone bills of the various departments, CommissionerJesse H Austin, Jr movedthat W G Massey, Clerk, be authorized and directed to removefrom the Welfare Department their present switchboard system and that a more economicaland reasonable system be installed, preferably one main line with four extensionsCommissioner Norman C Denning seconded the motion, which was carriedOn motion made, seconded and carried, it was moved that the meeting be adjournedto meet at 300 P M on Monday, June 24, 1963, for the purpose of continuing work onthe 1963 -64 budgetChairman?
