Meeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonMay 3, 1962The Board of County Commissioners of Johnston County met in special sessionon May,3, 1962, at 800 P M, in the Auditors Cffice, for the purpose of reviewingthe appraisal work of Associated Surveys, Inc, with the following CommissionerspresentH M Johnson, Chairman,, R G Gurley, Frank B Holding, Floyd C Price, Srand J D BaileyAbsent NoneThe following business was transacted1 Report of Associated SurveysIn accordance with a request, Mr W F Hester and Mr J W Lewis, of Associat-ed Surveys, Inc, appeared before, the Board and gave a report of their activities todate on the revaluation of property in the County They reported 23,074 parcels inJohnston County according to tax list and stated that they are now working on rural areas in six townships and in two towns of the CountyMr Hester felt confident that they would complete in a satisfactory mannerthe appraisal work by November 1, 1962It was stressed throughout the meeting that their appraisals be based on anequitable and conservative market value2 Air Conditioning Health CenterAfter a discussion of air conditioning the Health Center, W H Britt, Auditor,was directed to request Mr Harry K McGee, Architect, to formulate plans andspecifications for carrying out this project3 Merit SystemA review was made of the new salary plan inaugurated by the Merit System forthe Welfare and Health Departments, but action was deferred in adopting a scheduleuntil further study could be made of the subjectOn motion made and seconded, the meeting was adjournedCh ari
