undersigned to file applicationwith the Local Government Commission,Raleigh, NC, for its approval of the issuance`of the following proposed bonds of the County of Johnston, which binds shall besubject to approval of the voters of said County at an election975,000 of bonds for the purpose of altering, enlarging, improvingand equipping the public hospital facilities owned by the County knownas the Gurley introduced the following bond order which was read at lengthBOND ORDER AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF 6975,000 PUBLIC HOSPITAL BONDS OF THECOUNTY OF JOHNSTONWhereas, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Johnston deems it advisable,that Public Hospital Facilities be provided for the use of the inhabitants of theCount b the alteration, enlargement, improvement and equipment of the public hos-pital facilities owned by the County known as the Johnston Memorial Hospital, looEtedin Smithfield, North Carolina, and the Board of Commissioners desires to providefor the financing of the cost of such improvements, NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Johnston asfollowsSection 1 The Board of Commissioners of the County of Johnston has ascertain -1ad and hereby determines that, in order to provide adequate public hospital facil-ities for the inhabitants of said County, it will be necessary to make the improve-ments hereinafter described, and that it will be necessary to expend for such purpose,not less than W5,000, in addition to any funds which may be contributed by theFederal Government or any of its agencies, or by others, or any funds which may beused from the operating fund of said hospitalSection 2 In order to raise the money required to finance the alteration,enlargement, improvement and equipment of the public hospital facilities owned bythe County known as the Johnston Memorial Hospital, located in Smithfield, NorthCarolina, bonds of the County of Johnston are hereby authorized and shall be issuedpursuant to the County Finance Act of North Carolina The maximum aggregate princip-al amount of said bonds authorized by this bond order shall be Nine Hundred SeventyFive Thousand Dollars 975,000Seetion3 A tax sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on said bonds;when due shall be annually levied and collectediSection 4 A statement of the County debt of the County of Johnston has beenfiled with the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of said County and is open topublic inspectioniSection 5 This bond order shall take effect when approved by the voters ofthe County at an election as provided in said ActR G Gurley moved that the following resolution be adopted EiWHEREAS, a bond order entitled Bond Order authorizing the issuance of 4975,000;Public Hospital Bonds of the County of Johnston has been introduced at the meetingof the Board of Commissioners held on June 14, 1962, and the Board of Commissioners desires to provide for the holding of a public hearing thereon as required by theCounty Finance Act, NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Johnston asfollows1 The public hearing upon said bond order shall be held on July 2, 1962, at11 oclock, in the forenoon at the County Courthouse in Smithfield, North Carolina2 The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners is hereby directed to cause acopy of said bond order to be published with a notice of such hearing in the formprescribed by law, in The Smithfield Herald, a newspaper published at Smithfieldin said County of Johnston, at least ten days prior to such hearing3 The County Auditcr is hereby requested to file with the Clerk of theBoard of Commissioners, at least ten days prior to such hearing, a statement of thedebt incurred or to be incurred by the County for purposes Board of Trustees Johnston County Library andMrs Willye Wright, Assistant Librarian, questioned the Board concerning orderadopted by the Board at its meeting on May 31, 1962, which transferred the book-keeping and accounts of the library to the Auditors Office Mrs Boyette statedthat the Board of Trustees had carried out the prerogatives and duties of her Boardas required under the rules and regulations of the State Library to the best oftheir abilityMr H M Johnson, Chairman, informed Mrs Boyette and Mrs Wright that thetransfer of the records to the Auditors office in no way reflected
