Welfare Department whereby it was ascer-tained that the salary range of the professional workers as adopted by the Board onMay 7,1962 was unacceptable to the State Welfare Board, and realising that this sameviewpoint was held by Dr Norton of the State Health Department, and upon the re-commendation of the Local Welfare Board, Commissioner R G Gurley moved that thesalary range of the professional workers in the County Departments of Welfare andHealth as contained in resolution adopted by the Board on May 7, 1962 and as shownby Item 1 aragraph a and Item 2 paragraph 2 be amended by striking out the wordthree 3 and inserting in lieu the following two 2Commissioner Floyd C Price, Sr seconded the motion, which was carried24 Amendment Salary Range Health and Welfare DepartmentsAs a result of amending the salary range from three grades below standard totwo grades below in the professional classes of the Health and Welfare Departments,it is ordered that W HBritt, Auditor, be directed to pay the present employedprofessional personnel in the Health and Welfare Departments the minimum salaryrange of one step below the standard range and that the revenue for providing saidincrease in salaries come from accumulated funds derived from unfilled positionsin said department or departments, with the understanding that a new professionalemployee shall begin ata salary range of two steps below the standard range85 Telephone Service Agricultural Office BuildingAfter a discussion with C W Tarlton in connection with the installation oftelephone service in the Agricultural Office Building
