April 20, 19591 4Fit width283Meeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonApril 20, 1959The Board of Commissioners of Johnston County reconvened in special sessionon April 20, 1959, in the Commissioners Room, at 1100 A M, for the purpose ofholding a oublic hearing on bond order authorizing the issuance of 275,000 countybuilding bonds of the County of Johnston, with the following members presentH M Johnson, Chairman, J D Bailey, Floyd C price, Sr, R G Gurley,and Frank B HoldingAbsent NoneThe following business was transacted1 The Clerk reported to the Board that the bond order entitled Bond orderauthorizing the issuance of 275,000 County Building Bonds of the County of Johnston,which had been introduced on April 6, 1959, had been published in The SmithfieldHerald on April 10,1959, with notice that the Board of Commissioners would hold apublic hearing thereon on April 20, 1959, at 1100 o1clock, in the forenoon, atthe regular meting room of the Board of Commissioners at the Court House, inSmithfield, North CarolinaCommissioner R G Gurley moved that the Board proceed to hold a publichearing on the bond order The motion was seconded by Commissioner Floyd C Price,Sr and was unanimously adoptedAt 1100 Oclock, A M, the Chairman announced that the Board would hear anycitizen or taxpayer w --,o desired to be heard with respect to the bond order At thedirection of the Chairman the Clerk read the bond order and the published notic@of hearingAfter the Board had heard all persons who requested to be heard, CommissionerJ D Bailey moved that the public hearing be closed The motion was seconded byCommissioner Floyd C Price, Sr and was unanimously adoptedCommissioner Frank B Holding moved that the following resolution be adoptedWHEREAS, the bond order entitled Bond order authorizing the issuance of275,000 County Building Bonds cf the County of Johnston introduced at the meetingof the Board of Commissioners held on April 6, 1959, had been duly published withnotice of hearing thereon and the Board of Commissioners has, at the time and placespecified in such notice of hearing, heard any and all citizens and taxpayers whodesired to protest against the issuance of the bonds, and such hearing has beenclosed; andWHEREAS, the County Auditor has, by direction of the Board of Commissioners,filed in the office of the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners a statement of debtincurred or tobe incurred for purposes other than school purposes under bond orderseither introduced or passed, complying with the provisions of the County FinanceAct, and such statement so filed shows that the net indebtedness of the County is795 of the assessed valuation of property in said County as last fixed for Countytaxation;
