20Meeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonJune 9, 1958IThe Board of Commissioners of Johnston County reconvened in special sessionon June; 9, 1958, at 7 30 P M, Auditors office; court house, with the followingmembers presentH M Johnson, Chairman, J D Bailey, Floyd C Price, Sr, R G Gurley,and Frank B HoldingAbsent NoneThe following business was transacted1 Mr Ermit Stancil, Supervisor Soil Conservation Service of Johnston County,accompanied by Mr Hatcher and Mr Barefoot of the Soil Conservation Servicerequested that funds be made available for employing a clerk in the Soil Conserv-ation Office for the efficiency of the office and the convenience of the publicMr Stencil stated that the Johnston County office was second in the State inamount of work completed, citing that in 1956, 516 farms were completed and madeavailable for ASC payments, and that in 1957, 463 farms were completed He wasadvised that his request would be given consideration2 Upon the recommendation of Floyd C Price, Sr, the following motion wasadopted;On a motion made by J D Bailey, seconded by Frank B Holding,it was movedthat the Governors office be paid 8811, representing Johnston Countys pro ratashare of expenses in Eastern Carolina Regional dousing Authority hearing3 The Board reviewed and discussed items in the 1958 -59 budget, with theexception of request for salary raises and additional personnel but no definiteaction was taken, deeming it advisable to recess the meeting until June 10, 1958for further study and approvalThere being no further business, the meeting recessed to meet at 200 P Mon June 10, 1958i rmaMt9,
