213Meeting of Board of Commissioners for the County of JohnstonJune 30, 1958The Board of Commissioners of Johnston County reconvened in special sessionon June 301 1958, at 10 00 A M, in the Commissioners Room, with the followingmembers presentH M Johnson, Chairman, J D Bailey, R G Gurley, and Frank B HoldingAbsent Floyd C price, Sr,The following business was transacted1 Commissioner R G Gurley moved that the following resolution be adoptedRESOLUTIONResolved that under authority of Chapter 153, Public Laws of 1943, as amended,Section 128, the Auditor of Johnston County and Treasurer of Johnston County be,and they are hereby authorized to approve and pay current expenses in the severaldepartments of the County Government not to exceed ninety days from the date hereofpending the making of the annual appropriation as authorized in said law, and furtherthat the expenditures so authorized be charged against the final approproation ofthe several departments of the county respectively when said appropriations aremade for the current yearCommissioner J D Bailey seconded the motion, which was unanimously adopted2 Upon the request of J B Wooten, Lessee, Johnston County Produce Market, thefollowing motion was adoptedOn a motion made by J D Bailey, seconded by Frank B Holding, it was movedthat four sets of windows be installed in the Johnston County Produce Market Build -ing at a total cost of 26003 The statement rendered by the State Hospital, Raleigh, N C, for expenses inthe amount of incurred in the transfer of Virginia Hulse, alias PenelopeHarvey, to Grey S owe park Hospital, Grey Stone, New Jersey was referred to J LGeorge, County Attorney, for investigationI{ Upon the recommendation of W H Britt, Auditor, the following motions wereadopteda On a motion made by J D Bailey, seconded by Frank B Holding, it wasmoved that 9500 be appropriated from the contingent fund and transferred to theCounty Agent supply fund to cover expenses incurred in that accountb On a motion made by J D Bailey, seconded by R G Gurley, it was movedthat 45300 be appropriated from the contingent fund and transferred to the VeteransService supply fund to cover expenses incurred in that accountc On a motion made by J D Bailey,seconded by Frank B Holding, it wasmoved that 377575 be appropriated from the contingent fund and transferred to theelection expense fund for the purpose of defraying expenses incurred in that account5 Subsequent to a short discussion, the following motion was adoptedOn a motion made by Frank B Holding, seconded by JD Bailey, it was movedthat a Freddie Corbett, nee Gail Hathaway, be paid three weeks salary, whichrepresents vacation time due her6 Upon the request of Sheriff B A Henry, the following motion was adoptedOn a motion made by R G Gurley, seconded by Frank B Holding, it was movedthat the salary of Sheriff B A Henry be decreased by 10000, and that this amountbe set up in the budget as an expense item for the benefit of said Sheriff B AHenryThere being no further business, the meeting was adjournedy C a rC e
