10 475 February 15 , 2001 6 30 pm The Johnston County Board of Commissioners met in special session , Thursday , February 15 , 2001 , at 7 00 pm at Becky’s Log Cabin Restaurant , Highway 70 East , Smithfield , North Carolina , with the following members present Present James H Langdon , Jr , Chairman , Thomas M Moore , Allen L Mims , Jr Fred Smith and W Ray Woodall Absent Cookie Pope , Vice - Chairman , and Wade M Stewart , Also Present Rick Hester , County Manager , Joyce H Ennis , Clerk to the Board The Chairman called the meeting to order Board members held an informal discussion on a variety of subjects while enjoying dinner with Harold Keen , president of Kenly Savings Bank , James R Wahlbrink , executive officer of the Home Builders Association , Sharon Petit with the Realtors ’ Association , and Maurice D Ewing , president of Cabarrus County Economic Development Mr Wahlbrink and Mr Ewing were both speakers at the Johnston County Economic Forum 2001 held earlier in the day at Johnston Community College Board members thanked Mr Keen for inviting them to this dinner meeting Upon a motion by Commissioner W Ray Woodall , seconded by Commissioner Allen L Mims , Jr and carried by unanimous vote , the Board adjourned _______________________________________ James H Langdon , Jr , Chairman _____________________________ Joyce H Ennis , ClerkPage
