Ghost Walk 2026 Photo Gallery

The Heritage Center's 2026 Ghost Walk was held in Riverside Cemetery at the corner of Church and Front streets in Downtown Smithfield NC. 

On this year’s walk are six historical figures:

• Delilah McCoy, a Revolutionary War orphan.
• The Rev. P.H. Archer, a Methodist circuit rider and the namesake of Archer Lodge.
• John Rufus Coats, a farmer and politician.
• Sylvia Richardson Holder, a formerly enslaved matriarch and herbalist.
• Louis Abdalla, a Lebanese merchant.
• Mattie Woodall Creech, a housewife and murder victim.

All came to life as visitors strolled through the cemetery. The Ghost Walk is wheelchair accessible via paved streets and a gravel path.
