911 Service Disrupted for Brightspeed Landline Customers in Kenly, Smithfield, and Fuquay- Varina

Smithfield, N.C.- Johnston County residents with Brightspeed landline service in the Kenly, Smithfield, and Fuquay- Varina areas may not be able to reach 911 due to a service issue. Brightspeed is working to resolve the issue but has not provided a timeline for restoration.

Approximately 9,418 Brightspeed customers are impacted. Residents with Brightspeed landline service in those areas are strongly encouraged to use a cell phone to contact 911 if needed. This is not a Johnston County 911 equipment issue.
